March 2017
It has been a busy half term which is getting busier due to
making up the time lost for the snow days.
English
This half term we have been looking at myths and legends, we
have described heroes and mythical creatures and looked at using our senses to
describe settings. Last week we then wrote our own stories. We then had a go at
peer assessing each other’s writing and giving WOW and NOW comments.
Maths
Our main focus this half term has been fractions and
decimals. We have learnt how to multiply fractions, find fractions of amounts and
convert decimals to fractions.
Music
In
music we are learning how to play the recorder, it is early days but the
children played a good tune last week, so looking forward to London’s burning
next half term.
Design and
Technology
Our objective was to make a moving toy using cams movement.
Last Friday we had a whole day making the models, it was easier to make them in
one day rather than keep stop starting. The children were excellently behaved
and had a wonderful day.
